project overview
German Village Running Club (GVRC) is a community-focused run club in Columbus with a strong cultural presence but a basic, outdated website. I took this on as a self-initiated project to create a digital experience that better reflected the club’s energy and identity. Designed in Figma and built in Framer, the site uses bold typography, motion, and layered visuals to capture the movement and social spirit of the club, resulting in a modern, scalable platform that matches GVRC’s real-world impact.
the problem
GVRC’s existing website was bare-bones, listing only basic details like run times and locations. It lacked the club’s personality, didn’t answer common runner questions, and had little visibility in searches like “run club near me.” At the same time, I saw huge potential in their brand — something bold, energetic, and Nike-esque. The club had the culture; it just needed a digital experience that matched and made it easier for new members to discover and join.
the solution
I designed a bold, high-energy website concept that brings GVRC’s culture to the forefront while improving clarity, accessibility, and search visibility. The new experience answers common runner questions, highlights key details, and creates a stronger first impression for new members discovering the club online. The project is now moving into a collaborative phase with GVRC to refine content and prepare for launch, with future plans to expand the site into an e-commerce platform for club merchandise.
